The latter is the type of machine that becomes a legend. The Shelby 427 Cobra S/C is one of those legends. The product of retired racer Carroll Shelbys considerable imagination and skill, the original 1962 Cobra was based on a British-built AC Ace roadster that was methodically reworked by Shelbys team in Los Angeles. Powered by F0RD small-block V-8 engines, Shelbys earliest Cobras quickly earned respect on the street and success on the track. Never one to be satisfied, in 1965 Shelby found more performanceand speed in F0RDs big-block 427-cubic-inch V-8. It was good for about 425 horsepower and in the Cobra delivered a 0-60 MPH time of less than four seconds. Thats more than quick enough for a legend. Revells 1/24-scale model kit represents the ultimate street Cobra, the rare S/C (semi-competition) version that in reality was a thinly disguised race car.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0735/4626/8956/files/s-l400_343881a6-2db0-4cb0-9b89-be0d0d7832be.jpg?v=1732141993
